The Safe Trader Scheme is operated by Lancashire County Council Trading Standards Service and helps consumers to find reputable traders.
It is open to businesses that offer good customer service, trade fairly and honestly and are reliable.
To register with the scheme, you will be required to commit to the Scheme’s Code of Practice and to work with Trading Standards should any problems arise with your customers.
You will also:

Have demonstrated commitment to fair and honest trading practices

Have been in business for a minimum of of 12 months

Be able to provide 3 references showing good customer service

Have a minimum of £2million Public Liability Insurance and £5million Employer’s Liability (if applicable).
