Your business profile page will appear on the Safe Trader website. Potential customers will be able to view your details including links to your own website and see recent customer reviews and your feedback rating.

You will be able to log in to a private area on the website that allows you to monitor how many searches you have appeared in, read reviews and make any updates to your profile.

Assistance from Trading Standards

Trading Standards will;

• Work with your business to provide information on current legislation

• Offer advice on making sure your paperwork complies with the law.

• Advise on topics such as contract terms and conditions, cancellation notices, business names, changes in consumer protection legislation and website compliance.

Should a dispute arise with one of your customers, we will be able to provide you with advice on the situation and may be able to mediate with a view to resolving the dispute. The Code of Practice requires you to work with us to try to resolve any disputes.
If we receive a serious complaint about a member, they can be suspended from the Scheme whilst we investigate. If they are found to be breaching the terms of the Code of Practice, they can be removed from the Scheme. You can be assured therefore that only reputable traders will be permitted to remain on the Scheme.

Promotion of your Business

We are committed to promoting the Scheme to potential customers via advertising and day-to-day contact with consumers, visits to community groups and via Lancashire County Council Social Media.

Membership Material

You will be permitted to use the Safe Trading Scheme Logo on all your paperwork and websites.
You will also receive logo stickers for your vehicles and will be provided with promotional leaflets to give to potential and existing customers.

A Star Rating for your Business

Customer feedback allows us to regulate the scheme and ensure that customers are happy with the services they receive. All feedback is verified before being accepted, once accepted, it is added to your profile page on the website.

Customers feel more confident about employing a trader if they know what other people think of them, they feel reassured that they too will have a good experience. A good rating is a powerful means of promoting your business. So, it is important once work is completed that customers are encouraged to fill out a Customer Feedback Form or fill out the Customer Feedback page on the website.

Award Scheme

Traders who continue to receive good or high levels of feedback are awarded certificates which can be used as part of your advertising.
