I had a wet patch in the middle of the carpet in the downstairs loo. I couldn't see where it was coming from so called Arthur Padgett's, assuming it to be a plumbing problem. Zack arrived exactly as arranged. He thoroughly explored where the water might be coming from, taking up the carpet and examining all possible entry points and could find nothing to explain the wetness. In the end, we decided it must be due to the cold, which causes condensation to build up on the outside of the cistern and had probably been dripping down for some time and finding its way into the middle where the floor level is slightly lower though wear. A dehumidifier has dried it up now, and I now know to manage it better for next winter, I was told when booking, there would be a minimum of an hours charge but, on asking for an invoice a few days later, they had kindly waived that .
